Geocache Description:

I just recently moved in to this area and had been looking for a spot to place my first cache. In exploring my neighborhood, I noticed a view from the sidewalk of a lovely natural area with a creek which seems to be largely ignored by people coming and going. There's no trail or any access allowed, but I figured the viewpoint should at least get a little love with a cache.

I decided to do some research as well. It turns out the small stream is Glencoe Creek, a tributary of McKay Creek. It flows through Intel and other industrial areas, as well as through many neighborhoods and near several schools. The wetland area is also referred to as Glencoe Swale.

Hopefully the coordinates for the cache are accurate enough, although it shouldn't be too difficult to find. I seemed to have lost my geocaching pouch this week with my Garmin GPS inside, so I wasn't able to do perfect waypoint averaging.

It's also my son's 5th birthday today, so it's fun to place my first cache today, especially since he was the one who got me active in geocaching after a 3,000+ day drought.

Enjoy!
