On the biggest Island in Halifax Harbour. Just off the beach of the Wreck Cove. But hidden well. Plan to take some time to explore the area. The adventures around here can be fantastic.
You'll need a boat for this one. The area is quite popular for recreational boaters and the cove us usually full of activity on most nice days. Relatively inexpensive commercial transportation to it is also available from Fisherman's Cove in Eastern Passage;Capt. Mike Tilley 465-4563 -$8 round trip or you can get a ride via the Purcells Cove Marina ( see the posted sign). Best adventure is to canoe/kayak or beach via a tender. If you beach your runabount ( approach is all sand :), be aware of the tides.
Cache is well hidden under the remaining stump about 4feet tall of a clearly visible 30 plus foot fallen tree. The container is a cylinder 4" in diameter by 12" tall ( keep this in mind for items you plan to exchange- thin & narrow will work best ). Originally it contained:.
6 piece screwdriver set
'stuff it' travel pillow cover
shoe shine kit
personal stamper
paint brush kit
assorted balls
log book and pencil.
Cache was placed during the last summer weekend of '02 when I did a lot of boating in the ahrbour. Unfortunatly I no longer get out there so if you visit the cache please take care as maintenace now has to be common amongst visitors.
