Geocache Description:

What even is a "Glebe"?

The Glebe is one of the prettiest neighbourhoods in all of the National Capital Region, known for its handsome brick homes, views of the Rideau Canal, and bustling restaurants along Bank Street. According to the Ottawa Journal, the name "the Glebe" is also the name of a piece of an ecclesiastical parish used to support the parish priest. In the original 1837 survey of Ottawa, the Crown designated the Glebe to St Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Instead of the longer "the glebe lands of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church," real estate agents began referring to this lovely neighbourhood as "the Glebe."
