Stien der ikke er der

Planerne om en stiforbindelse langs søbredden fra Frederiksdal til Kaningården stammer fra planerne om Københavnsegnens grønne områder fra 1939, hvor Københavns befolkning i langt større grad end i dag benyttede Frederiksdal og Furesøen som rekreativt område.

Stien har været forhandlet og diskuteret lige siden.  Stien har haft en rolle i byplanvedtægter, lokalplaner, kommuneplaner og fredningsforslag.

I 1994 udsendte Danmarks Naturfredningsforening et foreløbigt fredningsforslag for Mølleådalen fra Lyngby til Farum med forslag om 5 stianlæg langs Furesøens kyst til forbedring af offentlighedens adgang herunder en stiforbindelse langs søbredden fra Frederiksdal til Kaningården.

Hverken Skov- og Naturstyrelsen, Københavns Amt eller Lyngby-Taarbæk Kommune støttede forslaget og i 2004 udarbejdede Lyngby Taarbæk Kommune sammen med Danmarks Naturfredningsforening en lokalplan, der ikke omfattede en sti fra Kaningården til Frederiksdal med henvisning til, at en sti ville forringe de landskabelige værdier langs Furesøkysten.

Debatten har bølget mellem bredejerne, Kommunen og diverse interesseorganisationer siden 1939 og jævnligt været forsidestof i de lokale blade.

I december 2013 blev lokalplanen for Furesøkysten vedtaget – uden en stiforbindelse. 

Der kunne have været en sti forbi cachen, men det er der ikke, og det kommer der ikke.

The missing path

The plans for a path connection along the lake shore from Frederiksdal to Kaningården originate from the plans for the Copenhagen area's green areas from 1939, when the population of Copenhagen used Frederiksdal and Furesøen to a much greater extent than today as a recreational area.

The path has been negotiated and discussed ever since. The path has played a role in town planning statutes, local plans, municipal plans and conservation proposals.

In 1994, the Danish Society for Nature Conservation issued a preliminary conservation proposal for Mølleådalen from Lyngby to Farum with proposals for 5 footpaths along the coast of Furesøen to improve public access, including a path connection along the lake shore from Frederiksdal to Kaningården.

Neither the Danish Forest and Nature Agency, Copenhagen County nor Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality supported the proposal and in 2004 Lyngby Taarbæk Municipality together with the Danish Society for Nature Conservation prepared a “local plan” that did not include a path from Kaningården to Frederiksdal arguing that a path would degrade landscape values along the Furesø coast.

The debate has rippled between the landowners, the Municipality and various organizations since 1939 and has regularly been front-page news in local magazines.

In December 2013, the “local plan” for the Furesø coast was adopted - without a path connection.

There could have been a path along the lake passing by the cache, but there isn’t one and there never will be.
