You should search for a 4” tube. Log only. Most geocaches in this series have a nearby parking area or a very wide shoulder. During the summer months poison parsnip is quite common along the roadside. It has yellow flowers that resemble Queen Anne's Lace and a thick grooved stem. Please be careful exiting your car as people drive very fast along Rt. 20. These geocaches may be more difficult to find in the winter, especially with piles of snow from plowing. Please tighten the caps and replace them where you found them. Thank you.
It seems the COVID-19 response has cost us dearly in an economic sense. Budgets are being slashed from villages to counties to statewide. The DOT has sought out Mr. Science for more help in protecting our state’s guardrail system. PETA complained mightily about using the dogs as guards. The new serpent sentinels have done an admirable job along the roads, (although somewhat less tolerable along the rivers) and have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars for the state, yet PETA is still up in arms about harming reptiles.
PETA doesn’t seem too interested in the Arthropod limb of the Animal Kingdom family tree. Mr. Science has captured some rather poisonous arachnids from the Haunted Forest of Averill Road in Cooperstown. He has devised an experiment for his “guarden spiders” to test their economic value protecting the guardrails on US Route 20 between West Winfield and Sloansville. I invite all geocachers to assist in this endeavor. As an incentive the DOT has made an offer that any geocachers who collaborate will receive a free pass on I-90 from Duanesburg to Albany.
