Geocache Description:

This cache started as "Hangin' around Eltham #2"  however after a serious Collison it's location has since become a memorial so we felt it was best to archive it and create a new one nearby. Hangin' around Eltham #2.1  although it still has the common thread it is a slightly different hide so we created #2.1.  #2.1 survived a few years, but teh bushes kept dying and getting thinner.  So now we have created #2.2  Same roundabout, just a different corner.

This roundabout is at the corner of Progress Road and Ryans Road.  In the 1966 Melway Progress Road was called Bolten Street and was part of the Shire of Diamond Valley.  It no doubt changed names to avoid confusion, with the nearby Bolton Street.  If you travel south on Ryans Road you would come to what was once the border with the Shire of Eltham.  After that Ryans Road was called Bolton Street.  This portion of Ryans Road has also changed names to be Ryans Road.  The last remaining length of Bolton Street is now on the south side of the Railway Line. If you look at the map for Bolton Street / Ryans Road you can see the town planners designed it on paper, as it is dead straight.  If they went out to look at the lay of the land they would have seen the very steep hills and the need for massive excavations like the nearby walls.

The cache is a bison tube. Terrain rating relates to the steep paths and roads to get to GZ if you are walking or riding a bike.
