Geocache Description:

Ever since I have lived in Suffolk, and been visiting Framlingham, this structure has intrigued me. From a distance it looks like an ornate bus shelter, but up close it's true function is revealed. I have finally got round to placing a cache here, and I hope you find this as interesting as I do.

A well was sunk here in 1896, in memory of William Jeaffreson F.R.C.S, who had been a doctor in the town and of his wife Caroline. The well and the pump have been disused since the introduction of mains water, and is now in the care of the Town Council. A stone plaque in the shelter explains how the well was given to the town by Ann Jeaffreson in memory of her parents.

In April 2015 the local council suggested this building be listed, but I can't find evidence that this has yet happened. If anyone can confirm this for me, I will update the listing.

The location itself seems quite popular as a meeting place, and somewhere to get out of the rain, so stealth will be required.
