This collection of caches has nothing to do with the Church Micro series in the UK. Given that the Australian 2016 census indicates that No Religion and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?" it is not surprising that there is surfeit of empty churches that have been repurposed.
Some history
The former Our Lady of Dolors Catholic Church, Yongala property is now privately owned. The building was originally erected for the Wesleyan Methodist Church in 1881. It was closed about 1900 with the amalgamation of the various Methodist churches. It was sold in 1903 to the Very Rev J H Norton, Vicar-General of the Catholic Church and was opened as Our Lady of Dolors Catholic Church on 18/9/1904, by the Bishop of Augusta, the Right Rev Dr Malier.
