Once in a Blue Moon
Eshne was sitting in a kitchen chair, studying a half empty glencairn of fiery light red scotch. The crystal glass had a pewter stand made to appear as a bone hand with long claws. The clawed fingers supported the clear crystal and made the cups a bit more decorative.
She sniffed the scotch as her sister, Erica, coughed from her first sip. “Merlin’s Beard! That’s hot!” Erica looked at the flame-shaped red bottle. Eshne chuckled softly, “Ogden’s Scotch Bonnet. This cute little red-headed witch in a little town in England introduced me to this delicacy. It was in Chudley, after a big quidditch match. It’s made by Ogden Brewing, same brewery that makes that Fire Whiskey I served last time I visited the Coven of England.”
Erica set the glencairn on the table and slid it towards her older sister, “No more. I value my taste buds.” Both sisters turned as the back door creaked open and a young witch poked her head inside. She entered the kitchen and plopped down beside her oldest sister.
“I’m doomed.” Jessica moaned. She held up her relatively new wand. Instead of a ten inch willow wand, she now had a six inch wand that took a 30 degree angle turn towards the floor. Erica asked, “What happened, Honey?”
“I was casting a spell to transfigure a really poor attempt at a birthday cake for Danni. She heard my incantation and thought our ghost was prowling around the kitchen.” Eshne said, “You haven’t gotten rid of that ghost yet?” Jessica shook her head, “No. Wasn’t her bone we found. The spell didn’t work. Anyway, She kicked in the kitchen door. Guess where I was standing.” Esh threw her head back as she laughed.
Erica shook her head slowly, You’d better get to La Vander’s to get that replaced. Spello Tape won’t fix that. Eshne said, “And you better do it quick.” She wiggled her fingers and spoke in a quavery voice, “Before the blue moon rises and the Salem Dark Witch gets you.” She put on her creepiest voice, “Woooooooo!”
Jessica growled, “That’s not funny! We studied her for a whole semester! She was a really Dark Witch!” Erica said, “You do know tonight is the blue moon?” “I gotta go! Come on, Jinx!” She cried as she ran out the door. Eshne laughed, “When is that girl going to stop believing everything she hears? Erica replied, “Never. But tonight is the blue moon.” Esh asked, “How good are your protection wards?”
Help Jessica get to La Vander’s wand shop and get back home before the Blue Moon rises.
Hidden with the cache is a long Rx bottle with a bit of swag. When the last of the swag is gone, please remove the Rx bottle or leave a note with your log and I’ll make it disappear. Please, only one item per cacher. BTW:The long Rx bottle IS NOT the cache container. That would be too easy.
The bonus wands are gone as is the extra long Rx bottle. You are now looking for a small bison tube in a land far, far away from the original spot.
