La Fincantieri è la realtà più importante a livello locale urbano, fornendo lavoro da più di un secolo a migliaia di persone. Si tratta di uno dei cantieri navali più grandi al mondo. Questi binari in disuso da tre decenni, portavano l'acciaio direttamente al cantiere e da poco, il comune ha intrapreso finalmente un progetto di riqualificazione togliendo pian piano i vecchi binari e regalando, a periodi e a chi ne facesse richiesta, cimeli come segnali, campanelle, relé e lampade appartenuti alla linea dismessa e troppo recenti per esser considerati reperti storici.
Da piccolo ci camminavo per andare a scuola e rendeva il tragitto divertente, il treno passava proprio davanti alla scuola media Randaccio (ex Canaletto) e lo sferragliare delle ruote sulle rotaie era assordante, dovevamo stare con le finestre chiuse ma, per dirla alla Pozzetto ne "Il ragazzo di campagna", il treno è sempre il treno! Per molti di noi cresciuti in un'epoca e in una zona in cui le automobili non erano così comuni come adesso, suscita ancora un fascino particolare.
suggerimento: questa cache richiede un lavoro di squadra, uno "aziona" la cache alzando il paletto dentro il tubo da sotto e l'altro la prende da sopra ma immagino che avendo le braccia abbastanza lunghe si possa recuperarla anche da soli.
Mi rendo conto che prima o poi anche questo tratto di ferrovia verrà interessato dalla manutenzione e la cache potrebbe aver bisogno di cambiare. La linea è stata tolta ed ora rimangono solo le foto che sono state fatte per vedere com'era...

Fincantieri is the most important institution locally, providing work for over a century to thousands of people. It's among the largest shipyards in the world. These tracks in disuse for three decades now brought steel directly to the site and, lately, the municipality has finally embarked on a redevelopment project by slowly removing the old tracks and giving, for a time, and upon request, relics such as signals, bells, relays and lamps belonging to the discontinued line and too recent to be considered historical.
As a child I walked along the railway to go to school and it made the journey fun, the train passed right in front of the Randaccio middle school (formerly Canaletto) and the rattle of the wheels on the rails was deafening, we had to keep the windows closed but, as Pozzetto said in one of his movies, "the train is always the train"! For many of us who grew up in an era and an area where cars weren't as common as they are now, it still has a special appeal.
hint: this cache requires a team work, one "runs" the cache by lifting the pole inside the pipe from the bottom and the other takes it from the top but I guess having long enough arms you can also recover it by yourself.
I realize that sooner or later this section of the railway will also be affected by the maintenance and the cache may need to change. The railway has been erased and now only the old pictures remain to show how it was before the works.
