Clean up Cheyenne's Greenway

***

Earn a Souvenir!

In celebration of official CITO - Season 2 and with the assistance of Cheyenne's Parks & Recreation department, we have identified another piece of the greenway that is in dire need of our attention!  The section is a short 0.6 mile stretch located between Powderhouse Rd (near the Pier One store) and Meadowland Dr (near the Old Chicago), roughly parallel to and south of Stillwater Ave.

Cheyenne Greenway - Stillwater Stretch

(Between Powderhouse Rd & Meadowland Dr)

Starting Point: Pier 1 parking lot

Ending Point: Old Chicago

Event Date: 14 November 2020

Event Time: 10:30 - 11:30 am

We will have water at the starting point, as well as trash bags.  Please bring your own gloves.  We will travel east collecting anything we can see, and will finish up at Old Chicago for an optional early lunch and to celebrate a job well done.

The path is concrete and so is wheel-chair/stroller accessible, but much of the work will be done off the sides of the trail, which are not well maintained and in some stretches exceed a 45-degree slope.  Recommend wearing the usual: closed-toed shoes, sturdy pants, weather-appropriate clothing, etc.  In case of snow or ice, please use caution on the sloping areas and approach from the down-slope side whenever possible. In addition, there is a creek that runs parallel to most of this stretch, so please watch your footing when at the foot of the slope.

Thanks, and look forward to seeing everyone out there!
