Geocache Description:


Cape Jaffa Lighthouse was originally built on the Margaret Brock reef 8kms out to sea from Cape Jaffa and 20kms South West of Kingston. It operated for 101 years in total.

Two lighthouse keepers staffed it continuously at one time. It's 142,000 candle power light showed at a distance of 40kms.

In 1973 a new lighthouse at Robe replaced the Cape Jaffa Lighthouse. This old lighthouse was presented to the National Trust SA for relocation to Kingston. It is State Heritage registered.

 

At the posted coordinates you will see a brown sign where you can find the necessary information to work out the final location.
