Welcome to Tawharanui Regional Park, a beautiful spot located just over an hour out of Central Auckland. In the area there are stunning beaches, several walks and lots of wildlife viewing opportunities, as the park is an open sanctuary. It is one of my favourite parts of Auckland and is now home to a great number of geocaches!
This cache is best accessed on your way in to the park. There is a parking spot on the side of the road here.
The geocache is a bison tube, hidden at the base of the corner fence post to the right of the sign. It can be reached from either side of the fence. After you have found the cache, take a short walk to the top of the hill behind the sign, for great views over Tawharanui and out to Kawau Island.
