This is the 14th of 16 in this power trail
I have been walking this wall for many years, I like to watch the sun come up. Over the years I have watched the water level rise and fall but the view is always beautiful.
The total length of the wall is 8.67 ks. My trail is only 3 kilometers.
The dam as we know it today was built in the late 60;s and opened in 1971. Upreaded where from 2001 to 2007 which is when the current flood gates where fitted. The dam was never ment to be the towns main water sorce.
The dam reached 250% capacity in February 2019 after mass rainfall in the area and the opening of the flood gates on February 2nd contributed to the major flooding of the lower areas of town creating wide spread damage and destruction.
Each cache on this train is a different type so I stronglt suggest that you carry your TOTT.
There is NO NEED to climb down rocks as all caches are within 3mts of thr trail markers.
A strong light sorce is recommended for night as the rocks and wildlfe are a dangourous conbination in the dark.
Unless you have a pushbike you will need to walk the wall to catch the smiles. it can be broken up buy doing the secound half by parking at S019 25.715 E146 44.208 or as locals call it the back stairs.
Be mindful of the wild life and enjoy the views.
Please be aware that if you do not sign the cache log you do not get to keep the smiley.
Please report and maintence required.
