Geocache Description:

Cache is not at the posted coordinates. However if you would like to go there you will be at the fifth and final site of Fort Edmonton (also named Edmonton House), which is the fort that evolved into present-day Edmonton.

Fort Edmonton was a trading post established by the Hudson's Bay Company on the Northern Saskatchewan River in 1795.

The first Fort Edmonton (1795-1802) was built close to where the Sturgeon River and the North Saskatchewan River meet, north of present day Fort Saskatchewan.

The second Fort Edmonton (1802-1810) was located on the Rossdale Flats in present-day Edmonton.

The third Fort Edmonton (1810-1812) was located close to present-day Smoky Lake.

The forth Fort Edmonton (1813-1830) moved back to the Rossdale Flats in present-day Edmonton.

The fifth Fort Edmonton (1830-1915) moved west to higher ground to a site south of the Alberta Legislature because of flooding that occured in the 1820's.

For more information about the fort see the following information from Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Edmonton

The final coordinates of the cache are at N 53° A.B W C° D.E'. This will take you close to the second and fourth site of Fort Edmonton.

You can find the answers to A, B, C, D, and E by completing each stage of the Amalgamated Edmonton Adventure Lab.
