Geocache Description:

Prominent Hill Mine is a major copper, silver, and gold mine in north west South Australia, 130 km south-east of Coober Pedy. The deposit was discovered in 2001 by Adelaide based Minotaur Exploration Limited and was a stand-out greenfield discovery in Australia.  The mine and concentrator was developed by Oxiana Limited, which later to become OZ Minerals. The deposit is an iron oxide copper gold style mineralisation.

"This geocache is 2.7km from wp1 of the earthcache GC80GP Arckaringa Basin Drive-By. The listed coordinates are 73km further south, so if you are travelling north to south don't forget to stop at the rest area to make your observations."
