This is a series of 16 puzzle caches along a well-marked footpath from Weald village towards Bough Beech reservoir, There is street parking available in Weald village. The walk starts at one end of BOAT SR277 and is mainly on footpaths which will be wet/muddy in winter. There are a number of wooden bridges and stiles to cross; they can be very slippery when wet. The path undulates and has a few short uphill sections but this an easy/moderate walk of around 3 hours.
The route is not circular but there are several return routes some of which pass other geocaches.
The cache is not at the posted coordinates.
This is a relatively simple puzzle, the information below will help you to solve it and might assist with a slightly harder one placed close by. This cache could be a C&D.
How many squares are there in a grid?
In this puzzle, only grids with the same number of horizontal and vertical squares will be considered. It is of course possible to just count the number of squares in a grid but as the grid size increases this become increasingly difficult.
Well the easiest is for a 1x1 grid where there is one square.

For a 2x2 grid there are four 1x1 squares and one 2x2 square, a total of 5.

For a 3x3 grid there are nine 1x1 squares, four 2x2 squares and one 3x3 square, a total of 14.

And for a 4x4 grid there are sixteen 1x1 squares, nine 2x2 squares, four 3x3 squares and one 4x4 square, a total of 30.

The general equation for the total number of squares N in a grid of mxm squares is
N =12+22+32+⋯+m2
An alternative equation is N = m(m+1)(2m+1)/6
If the number of squares in a 9x9 grid is abc then the cache can be found at:
N51 13.(a+c)(a+c)a E000 11.(c+c-a-b)b(a+c)
