Geocache Description:

This memorial commemorates the residents of Budby who were killed or went missing in World War 1 and World War 2 and is a designated Grade II  Listed Building.

The memorial is an Ionian Cross  made of Clipsham Stone.  It was paid for by public subscription including a generous donation from the 4th Earl Manvers.  It was unveiled by Earl Manvers on 31st July 1921 with the Hon Rev Robert Dairymole officiating.

A roll of honour was erected in Budby Chapel after the war listing the men from the Thoresby Estate and Rufford Hunt Kennels who had served.

Whilst visiting this beautiful memorial please take the time to reflect on what these men sacrificed to give us the freedom that we enjoy today.
