Important note #1
The cache is not at the posted coordinates. I don’t know what is at the posted coordinates, but do not go there. It will not help you. You must solve the puzzle in order to find the correct final coordinates.
Important note #2
I enjoy knowing bits of information from many different disciplines. I used to have a puzzle cache in this general area that relied on some basic algebra. I know a little bit about algebra. The title of this cache has a reference to punctuation (maybe). I know a little bit about grammar. One subject I know very little about is sports. Yet I still published a cache about sports. A subject I know even less about is science. I do not believe I technically had enough science credits to graduate from high school, and I took very few science classes in college. So, IF this puzzle has something to do with science, and IF the science is handled very poorly, don’t judge me!
Mostly meaningless narrative
As mentioned above, I previously had a cache placed in this general area. I gave that cache a terrain rating of 3. And I got logs like this:
- “after three unsuccessful stabs at an approach, I tried a fourth and while it was the right way, it still wasn't easy.”
- “We found a creek, which Hock promptly fell into.”
- “I went in on the south side of the main creek wading through the knee high poison ivy and then found the chasm of the second creek blocking my approach to the cache and so I went along it to find a place to cross. Finally after wading across the creek I went up the other side and was in thick chest high thorny vines and poison ivy…. Everything I did kept taking me in the wrong direction.”
- “There was so much PI that it was like walking into the den of eggs in the movie ‘Alien’...it was overwhelming. It was under, left, right and oh yes, above us…. This time of year I would give it a rating of 5/4 because of the dense growth and the slippery creek embankments.”
- “After trudging through this jungle, we found a creek and had some time climbing down. Luckily there was only a small river of water. When we came within 10ft of the cache we determined what side of the creek it was located and climbed back up again. We thought it would be easy from there but the GPS lost its mind and was pointing in all directions. We then just went to the place where the GPS was pointing to when we were in the creek and almost tripped over the cache.”
So, I will give this explanation. I would rate my walk to the cache site as a terrain of 1.5, maybe a 2. If your walk to the cache site is a 4 terrain, you might want to reconsider your approach. Now, when you get to the cache site, it’s a bit of a different story.
I have developed a bad habit. When I get to a site like this, I find myself asking, “What would DrPowercat do?” That’s the wrong question. I should ask myself, “What would kvenator or some other cacher in his right mind do?” But I don’t. I hide it where DrPowercat enjoys going. So, yeah, it’s not a terrain 2.
If you’re much heavier than me, you may find this one a bit intimidating. So feel free to bring a tree-climbing child with you. If you do not feel safe climbing this tree, please do not do so. No smiley is worth breaking a leg! I did not use a TOTT to place the cache, and I suspect that you will find a TOTT more trouble than it is worth (unless it’s a TOTT for cutting down trees, which I would like to discourage).
