Long time ago there were almost no large cities and the majority of people lived in the villages. The rhythm of life was much more calm, the villagers provided themselves with food, grew vegetables, kept livestock, fished and gathered mushrooms. They did not have such large-scale ambitions and opportunities as a modern person, but for that they had a strong body, great will and good health, because every day they did physical labor, did not sit for hours in front of the TV and were much less stressed about their appearance and the opinion of others. It was a time when a guy who fell in love with a girl from a neighboring village could not send her an SMS with a meeting place, not speaking about contacting her with a video call. He collected a bouquet of fresh flowers in the fields and rode a bicycle 9 kilometers, hoping very much that he would find the girl at home. Then every date was worth its weight in gold, every letter from a beloved was appreciated, as now a gift of an expensive smartphone is sometimes not appreciated. People were sincerer and knew how to enjoy simple things. I'm really happy to live in a time of modern technologies, in the city with an endless number of opportunities for self-realization, activities and entertainment, but occasionally I fondly think of those good old days when people lived in villages...
Earlier my grandparents lived in this village. As a childs, my brothers and I spent every summer here. We explored every corner, swam in all the nearby lakes, had a hooligan deals in abandoned houses and knew who had the most delicious apples on their site.
I dedicate this geocache to the nostalgia of all of us in the old days, in particular to the village of Tilžė and my beloved grandparents.
