This geo-art series has been created as a birthday gift to honor my husband, a NY Mets super-fan. We moved from Long Island, NY to beautiful North Carolina almost eight years ago, and before we finalized the move, my husband (MetsFanNC) literally said to me, “I can’t leave my Mets, you won’t make me leave my Mets!” (Spoiler alert- he’s the one whose job decided that we move).
We fell in love with the beautiful sprawling farmland and rolling hills of the area where we landed, and we never looked back. I wanted to highlight these beautiful rural areas in this series, so I hope everyone enjoys them as much as we do.
When completing this series, please be mindful of the rules of the road, passing traffic, and muggle attention. Some geocaches will require more stealth than others, and make sure you watch your footing. These geocaches are meant to be quick park-and-grabs. The numbers in the geocache titles do not reflect a particular order in which you should find them. When you’re through, you’ll have 55 more geocache finds covering two counties (Guilford and Rockingham)! A HUGE thank you to CaptainMath and Skyhawk63 for all of their help and wisdom. I know this would not have been possible without their many contributions!
This Hall of Fame catcher for the Mets was originally drafted by the Dodgers in 1988 as a first baseman.
