As the pandemic wears on and more people want to be outside on a beautiful weekend day, it has become harder to find places to hike away from people. We like to hike along the Conestoga Trail after parking at the House Rock lot. The blue-blazed loop is about 3 miles, but it isn't flat. You can stop at House Rock if you wish, but there are often people there. If you haven't done my Scenic Susquehanna Adventure Lab, it's one of the locations. That lab has you visit more popular and named overlooks. This cache takes you to one of the many overlooked overlooks. The hiding spot is not especially scenic, but it's a good place to stop for a snack. And along the way, you'll find some other overlooks that don't have names but provide nice views of the Susquehanna River. The overlook at GC4W7TN is a little extra hike south but well worth the view. I'm including some pictures in the gallery of what we saw on a beautiful November day when I hid this. You are looking for a small lock-and-lock under the rock. You will not be in an unsafe place. It is just a step down from the trail in a flat area. This time of year, watch your step on the leaves.
Congratulations to NoBlueCircles and the three younger circles on a blustery FTF (with some snowflakes?!).
