Geocache Description:

Tired of city living, Mickey decided one day to set off in search of a more peaceful place to live. Little did he know, it would end in quite an adventure!

NOTE: Mickey's journey is a little over 50km in length, and will likely take a couple of hours to complete. We very much recommend not attempting it after dark - much better to make a day of it, in our book!

Chapter 1

Mickey decided to start at the the train station. When he arrived though, he found a much more exciting way to travel! At the posted coordinates (S 43° 1.115', E 147° 16.185'), instead of the train, what did he decide to ride instead? A = number of letters in the name.

Chapter 2

Although it was lots of fun, Mickey soon realised he needed a faster means of transportation. At S 43° 1.5A2' E 147° 15.02A', he found what he was looking for. Just one problem though: he forgot his new steed's shoes! B = half of the number of shoes Mickey left behind along the fence.

Chapter 3

By the time he reached S 43° 2.10B' E 147° 15.94A', Mickey still hadn't found anywhere even worth looking at. He was about ready for a rest though! As he sat for moment, he noticed a number of other transportation options within the park. They looked like lots of fun, but weren't going to help him much so far from the water, unfortunately. C = number of transport options within the park, plus one.

Chapter 4

As Mickey continued, he realised he was passing through the neighbourhood of his friend, Soldier Tom. When he paid a visit to Tom (who lives at S 43° 4.14A' E 147° 14.9C0'), Tom asked if Mickey could do him a favour and deliver some pencils to a couple of dragon friends of his. Mickey, always ready to lend a hand, happily agreed. D = how many pencils did Mickey take to the dragons?

Chapter 5

If he was honest, Mickey was a little apprehensive about meeting some dragons, but a promise was a promise! Fortunately for him, the dragons he met at S 43° 6.45D' E 147° 14.A4C' were perfectly friendly! After passing on the pencils, Mickey continued with his journey. E = sum of the digits in the dragons' address.

Chapter 6

Mickey decided it was about time to stop for something to drink and a bite to eat. As he stretched his legs after his meal, he was surprised to find Alice and some of the residents of Wonderland hidden nearby! He soon found himself chatting with the characters residing at the tree at S 43° 7.B6A' E 147° 14.A4D'. They mentioned there was some real-estate for sale in the neighbourhood but, nice as it was, it was a little out of his budget. F = the number of people he talked to on ALL sides of this tree (excluding the birds - they can't talk).

Chapter 7

As the day wore on, Mickey had passed through many wonderful spots, but was still yet to find his perfect home. By the time he reached S 43° 9.5A7' E 147° 14.E2F' though, it was clear that his transportation was on its last legs and in need of a rest. He left it beside the local store, and began a search for his next vehicle. Across the road, he spotted a red and white object that might be useful to get his next mode of transportation going. G = the number of vertical sides of the "body" of the red-and-white object.

Chapter 8

By now, many locals had heard of Mickey's quest. A helpful realtor showed him a beautiful fairytale home at S 43° 1F.07G' E 147° 14.GF5'. "It's lovely, but a little too small for me" said Mickey. H = the third digit in the address of the fairytale home.

Chapter 9

Passing through S 43° 1B.85E' E 147° 13.0HD', Mickey was delighted to discover a flock of graceful seaguls soaring through the air. "There's gotta be about a dozen of them", he thought. Upon a closer look though, he discovered there were a few more than that. I = how many MORE seagulls there were than Mickey first thought.

Chapter 10

By now, Mickey was beginning to feel quite weary from his journey. Fortunately for him, his friend Ed lived nearby (at S 43° 16.H7A' E 147° 1I.B77', in fact), and was more than happy to put Mickey up for the night. Mickey enjoyed his stay and was very grateful for Ed's hospitality, but when morning came he knew it was time to find a place a little more his own size. J = the number of fingers Ed has.

Chapter 11

As he passed S 43° 13.9EJ' E 147° 7.8FC', he came across a very friendly household. They immediately offered Mickey a place to stay - after all, they said, what's one more with so many already under one roof? Mickey politely declined - they'd make good neighbours, he thought, but he'd rather a place he could call his own. Besides, the men seemed to be a little obsessed with their work, although the young lady who lived with them was perfectly lovely. K = how many bows does the young lady have in her hair? (NOTE: there's parking available at S43° 13.H3G' E147° 07.8EB' if you're having trouble spotting this from the road).

Chapter 12

As Mickey passed by S 43° 14.6FC' E 147° 7.K5D', he could hear the ocean breaking on the beach, and feel a calm sea breeze ruffle his hair. This could definitely be my kind of spot, he thought. At that moment, he noticed beside the road a most unusual house - it was standing on stilts, and had a most unusual architectural feature it the back yard. Although he was definitely intrigued by the house, it did look a little flood-prone for his liking. He could feel his journey was coming to an end - but not quite yet. L = number of letters in the name of the type of constructed object.

The Final Chapter

When Mickey reached S 43° KG.HAE' E 147° JL.DKD', he knew he'd found his place. Far away from the hustle and bustle he sat above the clifftop, admiring the ocean stretched out before him. The calm and quiet of the sheltered cove were all he could possibly have hoped for. Finally, he was home.
