Geocache Description:

This is a beggining and an end point.

There is a sign here talking about the old Iluka Railway which ran from the Bluff quarries to the River Training Works.  There are a few remenants left from that time - it stopped in 1903 after operating for 27 years.  The railway was added to numerous times in that time, to the wharf, breakwall, North Sea Spit and what is now Frazers Reef.

If you take the walk into the bush just behind the sign you can walk the 500m to town and see some of the other railway items still left mouldering or rusting in the area.

There is parking on each side of the road that would be suitable for cars towing caravans or trailers.
