This is a series placed along Hoover Road on top of Ice Mountain. There are six geocaches total to be found.
This series is very low terrain. All geocaches are basically wooded cache and dash hides. Just feet from Hoover Road itself. The cache sizes vary from Micro to a Ammo Can.
My family cabin is a short distance away. So, I have spent alot of time in this area as I grew up. From deer spot lighting to snow shoeing in the winter. The road can get very sketchy in the winter months. I would recommend four wheel drive if there is any snow on the ground at all. In the summer months, you can get away with driving a car.
You can also choose to ride a bike, snow shoe during the winter, or even hike. The road on top of the mountain is very straight and level. From series 1 cache to the final is roughly 1 1/2 mile. (3 miles round trip)
A handheld GPS is highly reccomended. Cell service can be spotty on the mountain.
You can see all kinds of wildlife up here. Turkeys, Bear, Deer, Foxes, Coyotes, Ruffed Grouse, and much more! There are some quality hides up here to find while on the mountain, including the 2003 placement, Hunter's Haven II. Enjoy your time here!
For this geocache, you are searching for a small. It is a cylinder shaped container wrapped in duct tape. Roughly 6 inches tall and 3-4 inches in diameter.
