Geocache Description:

The term 'Counting Beans' is derived from a slang way to describe what company staff dedicated to managing finances do every day. When not on coffee breaks. The use of basic mathematics, and attention to detail, are vital skills, in addition to the more technical financial aspects.

This is a cache for those that can pay ATTENTION TO DETAIL, and some basic mathematics (honest). This Multi will take you to a number of Way Points. At each one you need to pay attention to your surroundings, and find a series of numbers/characters that will help you along the way.
Each Way Point will be named by the first two characters there - so that will help you identify the right one each time.
Each subsequent character will be referred to by the two-character name of the waypoint followed by a number representing them in order. Usually a number, but if one happens to be a letter, then the value of that letter (A=1, B=2, C=3 etc) is what you should use.

For example. If you find "BH90C6" then:
'BH1' =9
'BH2' =0
'BH3' =3
'BH4' =6

From there it is just basic mathematics, and a fair bit of walking, or bike riding if you prefer.
This is also somewhat of a tribute to a local cacher who is exactly NONE of the above, except for the coffee part.

OK. Let's get to it:

Start at the Starting Posted coordinates. To get to the first waypoint, travel 5434" at a bearing of 45°

  • Find your numbers for "AS"
  • Proceed to WP2 which is at S27° 19.'AS3-1''AS4+1''AS2-AS3'  E153° 01.'AS2-AS1-1''AS4-AS1-AS1''AS1+AS1+1' and find your numbers for "W1"
  • Proceed to WP3 which is at S27° 19.'W12''W13+W15'W11*(AS4/AS1)'  E153° 01.'W12-W11-AS1''W11''(AS1+W14)/W15' and find your numbers for "CB"
  • Proceed to WP4 which is at S27° 19.'AS4-CB1-CB4''W11''CB3+W15+CB4'  E153° 01.'AS1+CB2+(CB3+CB1)*(AS3+AS4)' and find your numbers for "P1" ...Note: If you find a P1 where the last three digits are all the same as each other, check your compass again, it's not that one, look about 20m to your left.
  • Proceed to WP5 which is at S27° 'P12+CB4'.'P11+CB1''AS1+CB2''CB3'  E153° 01.'P14''W13''P11' and find your numbers for "B1"
  • Proceed to WP6 which is at S27° 'P14''P11'.'W13''P13''B16'  E153° 'CB2''CB1'.'AS1''B16''W15' and find your numbers for "NM"
  • Proceed to WP7 which is at S27° '(W12*W15)+W11'.'CB4''NM2+AS1''B12+P14'  E153° 'P14'.'W15''NM1+NM3''W14' and find your numbers for "X2"
  • Now proceed to GZ which is at S27° 'P11+NM5+X26'.'P12*(SP3+SP2)*NM2'   E153° 'P13''P14'.'B16*X24*(P11+X23)+X25' and sign the logbook.

The final container is squarish in shape and should not be too hard to spot from the base of the right tree.

Simplez! devil

Congratulations and Well Done to Oz_Bean_Counter for persevering for a well earned FTF.

Check your coordinates for the final container location, or for any of the seven waypoints, HERE!

Additional Hints (Decrypt)

[Tip: Bring and wear Insect Repellent - trust me on this] [From start to end it is way more than 10km, and you can walk if you wish. I would suggest driving to the waypoints, or riding a bike. The final GZ journey from car is just over 1km return]
