Geocache Description:

I recently did the Marlborough Mount Everest Challenge in which participants have seven weeks to climb the equivalent of Mount Everest (8850m). This is the time it took Sir Ed Hillary to conquer the mountain back in 1953. To do this participants had to climb Mount Vernon (354m ascent) 25 times or the Tirohanga Track (246m ascent) in Picton 36 times. Those were the two designated ascents but you could do any hill/mountain as long as the ascent was greater than the Tirohanga Track.

During this time I ascended Mount Vernon 33 times and the equivalent of the Tirohanga Track 7 times for a total ascent of 13404m, the equivalent of one and a half ascents of Everest. During that time I got to discover a couple of possible locations for a cache and this is one of them.

The cache is one of the new 'leakproof' Sistema Klip-It containers (let me know in your log if it is performing as advertised), with a pill container and a Rite-in-Rain logsheet. At time of placing there was also a smily-face token in it, but B.Y.O.P.

The coordinates were way-point averaged with a Garmin Etrex 20 GPS so should get you in the rough area. The cache name and hint should do the rest.

NOTE: This cache is located in the Wither Hills Farm Park where walking and mountain biing are prohibited for the period from one hour after sunset to one hour before sunrise.
