While doing a local Adventure Lab, Darth Leviosa and I came upon this interesting artifact. I returned about a week later and placed a cache here. The hint is an exact description of the hide so only peek if you want a spoiler.
On December 5, 1897, the 192' steam freighter, the S.S. Geroge W. Morley was en route from Milwaukee to Chicago, without cargo, when she caught fire. Though the crew attempted to save her, she burned to the water line and sunk. The entire crew was rescued. Internet accounts of the wreck vary wildly but these few facts seem to be consistent.
The wreck remains in Lake Michigan in shallow water, about 150 yards off Greenwood Beach. It is a popular spot for wreck divers and kayakers to visit. There is even a 5-terrain geocache on the wreck itself.
On August 26, 1969, a team from the Bell & Howell Divers Club, aided by the Evanston Fire Department, recovered the ship's 2.5 ton propeller which now rests here on the grounds of the Charles Gates Dawes House.

Two videos of a 2017 dive to explore the wreck can be found here and here.
In 2015, ABC7 posted a terrific video to Facabook showing an aerial view of the wreck clearly visible in the clear waters of Lake Michicgan. Click the photo below to see the video.
