Call me Calypso...
I am a fledgling elemental white witch - a spellcaster who works with all the universal elements for the benefit of others. I pride myself on providing healing and protection for those in need. However, the calamity that befallen this place has shaken my spirit.
The destruction wrought by the hurricane combined with the work of men has severed my path to precious resources. I feared that without intervention, my abilities will be severely weakened, or worse be lost. One day I crossed the path of a man whom I suspected to be a petty thief and confronted him. He was instead just a geocacher who found a new cache. I ask him "Why do you play this game that rewards you with cheap trinkets?" His response was "The hunt itself that holds the real rewards."
The cacher talked about how geocaching transformed his well-being besides his physical form. He was led to places he never saw before. He met new people that gather in covens events. His creativity was expanded by making geocaches of his own. But the reason that drew me to the game was their promise to preserve the nature of the land they play on.
During my first months of geocaching, I have found places that helped me reconnect with the forces of nature and expanded my craft. As a thank you to all playing this game, I am ready to show you a glimpse into my magical world.
For the honor of Mother Earth and to the seekers of cachers who care for her, I offer you this trial...
I have started writing a special Grimoire - a book of spells picked to aid me in my geocaching quests and mark my hidden caches. I call upon all seekers of caches to add knowledge to its pages. To find my book and the altar that guards it, you must decipher the scroll below you to uncover its location and earn my blessing. Those who find my grimoire can read from it with their eyes or their magic slate (camera) but do not write on or take its pages. If you so choose, you can leave your own knowledge of magic and geocaching to be considered for inclusion in my book. May your quest be victorious.
