Branham Park Tribute #1.5 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Rhett & Scarlett: This cache has been plagued with muggle problems. We tried to change the type of cache but we discovered it was gone away today and maybe gone during the series of recent DNF logs. We are, therefore, archiving this one.

Geocache Description:

For those Geocachers that have have around awhile, you might reconize this hide location and style as duplicated of a previous Branham Park cache.  We replaced the cache and its hiding style to a more common type.  Please replace it within its camo'd state.

This cache and its sister cache, Branham Park Tribute #2, is a tribute to caches that have been hidden in this park and are now archived.

We decided Branham Park needed another cache; and the park is big enough for two caches. So we create a cache as a way to bring additional tribute to those past caches.

The first cache planted here was called Tupolo Tub (GC99F9).  It was hidden by Roofdog & BlockFam October 10, 2002.  It was a medium-sized Tupperware container hidden under a bushy tree in the northwest corner of the park.  It survived less than a year when the city pruned back this wild tree thereby exposing the cache to plain view.  It was archived June 2, 2003.  It had 54 finds and we logged this cache December 7, 2002 as our third find after getting into caching during a Thanksgiving trip to Washington State 18 years ago.

The second cache hidden in this park was called Tupolo Honey (GCGVRA).  The Beckerbuns hid this cache to replace the previous Tupolo Tub cache and named it after Van Morrison’s iconic song by the same name.  It was an ammo can hidden September 7, 2003 in the middle of a juniper bush at the entrance into the park.  We found it October 5, 2003 during the night because there were so many muggles during the day. This was our 106th find.  It received 64 finds before it too was archived on June 25, 2004 due to major trimming of the camouflaging bushes.

The third cache was hidden by the infamous WOW (Worker of Wood).  His creation called More Power to You (GCM01W) lasted much longer because of its excellent blending into the surroundings.  It was planted November 4, 2004 and it survived over 11 years.  It gained 599 finds before it was archived by a Geocaching reviewer at the beginning of 2016.  However, the cache may have disappeared because of construction 10 months earlier.  We logged this cache December 12, 2004 as our 309th find.

A fourth cache in this park was the end location of a mystery destination cache.  I don't want to give too much more information about that cache because this one, Branham Tribute #1.5, is designed to be very similar in its final placement.

And now we bring the 5th cache to this park or belatedly the 6th one.  This cache was meant to be planted at the same time as it sister cache, Branham Tribute #2, but some unforeseen obstables prevented its activation.  And because of the nearly 9 month delay we have changed its style and location slightly.

Congrats to SparkyInCali for the First to Find status!
