The limestone hotel you see here was built in 1899. It was considered as one of the premier motels in the midwest in those days. A magnificent limestone building having 3 stories and 28 elegant rooms. In November of 1902 a fire gutted the hotel and was restored and reopened. A number of guests were said to have died in the fire which may be why the place is considered haunted. Those who have stayed on the 3rd floor reported smelling smoke and spotting eerie fires that appear and reappear in the hallways. Others have claimed seeing ghostly figures at the top of stairways establishing a paranormal presence here.
Congratulations to BLT33 for the FTF!!!!
