This series is placed along Remington Ranch Road. Remington Ranch was going to be another destination resort like Brasada and Pronghorn but it started at the wrong time. Anyway The road into the Ranch is a prime place to put some geocaches. From the highway to the gate is about 2 1/4 miles of gravel road. You can drive close to each cache but if your up to it you can also hike or bike the series. Each cache in this series is different.
This is #9 in the series. This one we will call Safecracker. That being said the Trackables will be SAFE and sound locked in the safe. There is a lock and lock container inside for the trackables.
This cache may take a while, it is rated a difficulty of 4.5! You will want to bring along a notepad, The trick of this cache is not finding the ammo can ( the SAFE), the trick will be "cracking the code" that will open the SAFE. The ammo can itself is hidden in a traditional manner. To claim a find your name must make it on the log.
DO NOT force anything. Do not bring pry bars, acetylene torches, bolt cutters, explosives, or any other aggressive tools to open the cache. It will become very obvious how to open the cache when you find it.
You will need to find three (3) clues around ground zero in order to figure out how to open the cache. All of the clues are firmly SECURED within 25 - 30 feet of the cache. Use the first letter of each clue to open the lock. For example, if you found an "Apple" as one of the clues, you would use A in the combination. After you find the 3 clues, then using the letters in the correct order is the next challenge. You will have 6 different possibilities to unlock the lock.
As usual, please re-hide just as well or better than you found it. The cache should not be visible to passers by. Please latch the ammo can tight after re-securing as you found it before re-hiding, and sit it upright.
