This woodlot is just part of the land donated by the Earl E. Erb family. In total, they donated 40 acres to the township, with the adjoining open field area being the site of the future Wellesley Recreation Centre. By locating the trails along existing tractor trails blazed by Mr. Erb, the number of trees that needed cutting was kept to the bare minimum.
