This rail trail was originally part of the St. Marys and Western Railway, which ran trains between Ingersoll and St. Marys, by way of Embro, between 1908 and 1958. The line was abandoned and the tracks removed a few years later. This portion of the trail now forms part of the Loop Trail around St. Marys.
Parking is on the roadside of Stoneridge Blvd. Waypoints are provided for the parking location.
The cache is named after one of the many railroad clichés. The cache is right next to the trunk of the tree.
