This cache IS at the posted coordinates.
It's locked, with two combination locks; each with a set of 4 letters which spell a word.
In order to unlock each of them, keep reading...
One day, not long ago, the little pirate LuciFurr was out pillaging treasures and came across a hoard of presents that other local pirates in these parts had plundered from Santa's sleigh!
Being a wee pirate who loves presents herself, she could not resist the urge to plunder some of their plunderings! And they've stolen so many from Santa anyway! Surely they won't notice a few gone missing?
She sneakily hid her big stash here in these woods, in hopes no one will discover her misdeeds, especially not Santa.
Being young, she doesn't really bother with cleverly discrete hidings, but she did hide it in a challenging location only a kid would love. Lots and lots of SNOW.
We're betting though, that you'll be able to recover some of her loot, if you're ok with trudging there.
We elves are sharing all this information with you in hopes you can help Luci atone for her wicked ways, and maybe even get off of Santa's naughty list!
Note: This cache is only a short way down the rail trail next to Cottonwood Lake. There are parking coordinates, if you need them.
The coordinates are very bouncy in the woods especially during winter, so use geosenses and follow the hint! There might be a few jewels to guide you as well. Look for them at the entrance into the woods (just off the rail trail), where the snow isn't quite so deep.
NOW, to break into the hoard, there are TWO LOCKS that each spell a word.
To find the hidden words, you first must crack the code by solving the crossword puzzle. You'll find the secret to the code words by clicking on the crossword image in the photo gallery (it's also printable).
Once you "break in", the Log is small and slightly camo'd in metal. Can you find it? There are also some fun FTF prizes in this cache!
