Geocache Description:

Note.  THIS CACHE WILL NOT BE ACCESSIBLE DURING FLOODING OR AFTER HEAVY RAINS!!

At the posted coordinates you will step out by a large rock creekbed which has been eroding for many years.  Over all this time old man river has cut away little by little and created these interesting rock “bridges”.  This can be attributed to the simple process of the water cutting away at the weaker sandstone and leaving the harder limestone and thus having an interruption free way to travel downstream.  The two rock bridges can be seen right next to each other.   What makes this point unique is the way the water flows under said bridge and has left it in nearly perfect shape on top.  This is another example of Missouri’s rich karst topography.

The questions.

1.  About how long are the rock bridges?

2.  What sort of rock was most likely in the area that is now open?

3. Although not required please post a picture in your log.

I have placed many caches in the Runge area so this one is all okay.   I have checked with management on placing non physical caches and it is permited.
