This is also known as Durrington Pond an is the remnant of a much larger Northbrook Farm pond. It was set within orchards of which just one large old pear tree remains. It is also near public footpath 3114.
Despite recent housebuilding nearby the grassland is maintained as a meadow and the pond periodically dredged. The scrub areas are coppiced by Conservation Volunteers to maintain its value to wildlife and provide cover for nesting aquatic birds.
It is quite easily passed by all so this is an opportunity to enjoy a small piece of classic English landscape.
