State Parks Geocaching Information
You will travel downward for an elevation change of about 100 feet to Claitt Creek. Follow the trail along the creek. The cache is about 30 feet off the trail on the side opposite of the creek.
Claitt Creek Nature Trail Loop connects to the longer (~ 6-mile) Rock Dam Trail where you can see rock outcroppings that are actually part of the rock outcropping that is Stone Mountain, sit on the Sitting Tree which is an old directional marker tree, and travel through the Devil's Gorge. There are no bridges over either of the creeks on these trails so some rock hopping (or wet feet) will be required to complete the loop.
