Geocache Description:

Carracosta is a dual-type Water/Rock Fossil type Pokémon.

On our adventure to this rugged island, we decended an overgrown/crumbling concrete and dirt path down the cliff face towards the beaches below. About a quarter of the way down the foilage and fence dissapeared and we had a view of the coastline for miles.  It was also at this point we discovered a Carracosta fossil beneath the crumbling pathway.

This is an amazing location and the cache is only meant to draw you down the path far enought to want to go all the way down to the beaches.  We spent several hours here exploring the coastline.  If you go far enough you will find the slot through the cliffs to another hidden beach.  We considered hiding a cache down lower, but this coast does get pummled pretty hard by winds, surf, and storms.

The cache is right below the pathway at the GZ and a simple arm reach underneath will put it in your hand.  Though the fence is gone you should be safe as long as you don't try and climb off the path.  No need to do that to find this one.

OkiDex Entry:

Carracosta is a reptilian Pokémon resembling a bipedal, blue-colored sea turtle. Its stomach is pale blue. It has deep blue rocky structures encrusted on its face, back, and the sides of its chest forming a "mask" and shell. Its flippers are long with black finger-like protrusions at the tips. Carracosta has a thick tail and short legs with two-toed feet.

Carracosta's flippers have enough power to open a hole in the bottom of a tanker with one slap or knock out a foe. It once lived in the sea millions of years ago and is now considered extinct. It hides in its shell to imitate as a boulder in order to ambush prey. Carracosta has extremely strong jaws, allowing it to eat steel frames and rocks, in addition to prey, devouring every last piece of flesh and bone. This diet allows Carracosta to develop a thick and sturdy shell. Carracosta is an active hunter on both land and sea. However, it moves slow on land. Once it finds prey on land, Carracosta drags it into the water to finish it off.
