This is a relatively simple puzzle, the information below will help you to solve it and might assist with a slightly harder one placed close by.
A twist on the triangles puzzle is where the horizontal intersecting lines do not cross all the way across the triangle. In this case the total number of triangles is found by adding the segments at each level. The example below has 3+3+6 = 12 triangles.

To solve the puzzle you need to determine the number of triangles in the two figures below. When adding longer lists of natural numbers it is quicker to use n(n+1)/2 where n is the number of segments.
