Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the 100-Mile Hike series. The cache is hidden a short distance above the Coyote Ridge Trail in Coyote Lake - Harvey Bear County Park. From here, you'll have an amazing view of the foothills and Morgan Hill, and you'll probably see more wildlife than people. I saw wild pigs, wild turkeys, deer, and many cows on the day I placed this cache.

There are many entrances to this beautiful park. You can take a short walk or hike and cache all day. This cache is the shortest hike in the series; it will add only 3 miles to your "100-Mile Hike" tally if you park at Coyote Dam and go straight to the cache and back. But if you've never been here and you're looking for a cache binge day, this is a fantastic place for it! You can easily hike for ten miles or more, depending on your choice of starting point and route.

This cache is an 11th cache added to replace "The 100-Mile Hike: The Chalks" in Big Basin. Sadly, that cache was probably destroyed by the CZU fire and is definitely off limits until Big Basin re-opens. This cache will allow cachers to finish the series and still have a "spare."

The cache is large Snaplock container at the top of a well established cow path. It's steep for a short distance, but it's easy to follow and worth the effort. Make sure to note the keyword for the 100-Mile Hike final. It's in the logbook and on the lid of the cache container.

Park hours are 8:00am to sunset. Trail hours are sunrise to sunset. Happy hunting!
