Vargsundet avvattnas till Bodafjärden och havet av utloppsdiket Vargsundsådran som regleras av en sluss. Ådran grävdes på 1930-talet och har därefter muddrats ett flertal gånger.
Slussen stod färdig 2006 och ersatte en tidigare sättdamm från 1997. Slussens höjdskillnad vid normalvattentillstånd är cirka 0,2 meter. Under fiskvandringstiden slussas fisk genom slussen automatiskt några gånger i dygnet.

Vargsundet is drained to Bodafjärden and the sea by the outlet ditch Vargsundsådran which is regulated by a lock. The vein was dug in the 1930s and has since been dredged several times.
The lock was completed in 2006 and replaced a previous settling dam from 1997. The height difference of the lock at normal water conditions is about 0.2 meters. During the fish migration period, fish are automatically locked through the lock a few times a day.
