The name Ferring is Saxon and the site of the village is an ancient one. It is mentioned in the Doomsday Book.
The immediately noticeable feature of the village is the lack of street lights and public paths on most of the roads, after that you then begin to see the beautiful houses and cottages.
The obvious way to get to the village is by car but this village still has a bus route that services the village.
