Martello Tower 66 is in sight and located on Langley Point, the other side of the harbour. The tower survives well and retains its original gun barrel, which is a rare amongst Martello towers.
During World War II, a concrete gun emplacement was constructed across the roof of the tower, which later supported a temporary coastguard station. The tower now stands empty.
Having done the circuit many times and we have doubts about the longevity of the series due to being in high muggle areas so discretion and stealth must be exercised at all times.
Turn right along the footpath northeast side of the outer harbour, there will be some private roads where parking is not allowed.
