Geocache Description:

Pinces Gardens have a history dating back over 225 years. A history that is almost completely lost from the physical landscape, barring the wisteria arch that remains, albeit refurbished, today and a couple of dedications in the form of street names.

This is intended to be a simple multi cache to encourage a little bit of learning about local history. The final is a short (few minutes) walk away. I couldn't put the final within the gardens due to the proximity rules. This area being so built up means it doesn't lend itself to interesting hide types so apologies for lack of invention used at the final location. But a basic cache is better than no cache, surely?

To calculate the final location, visit the headline coordinates where you'll find a sign detailing the history of the area and extract the numbers for the below clues.

John Luccombe bought the area around Pince's Gardens in the year 1A9B.

In 1C24, the business being run from the land was sold to Captin Robert Pince. He purchased the business for £D,E00

The business started to decline in the late 19th Century and parts were sold off over time. What remained of the nursery was sold to the city council in 1F1G.

The cache can be found at:

N 50° BG. A (E - D) (E + D)

W 003° (C * B) . (F - A) (C * E)

The final should not pose any problems, though stealth may be required depending on the time of day.

Please replace the cache carefully after signing the log.

If this cache needs maintenance, please add a Needs Maintenance marker when you log your find.
