Geocache Description:

Valley View Ridge Series

This ridge offers valley views in all directions. The trailhead [N49 05.435 W117 45.845] is at a junction with the Green Door Trail near the #2 Green Door Loop II cache. An undocumented, but well used, bike trail goes along the east side of the ridege [pink ribbons], higher up but parallel to the natural gas pipeline. At the far end of the ridge, it angles around and climbs away from the pipeline. Though the trail continues on, this series loops back along the west side of the ridge [blue & white ribbons].

You'll see the first junction [both pink and blue & white ribbons] just before the trail goes to the right and drops down a bit. You should set a waymark here. When you get close to VVR#3, stay on the trail for a while, watching for blue and white ribbons. That's the easiest route onto the rocks.

There is no trail but it's mostly an easy ridge run. Keep the valley drop-off to your right and choose the easiest route for yourself, using the ribbons & hidden caches as your guide. There is one tricky spot where you come off the rocks and have to go left at an angle to get onto another set of rocks. Your GPS will guide you.

After finding the last cache, follow the ribbons down a slope then over to the left [at 300M from the last cache] to meet up with the trail. At the trai -- the waypoint you set -- go to the right and it willl lead you back to the junction on the Lower Green Door Trail.

A little forested area along the ridge.
