The previous cache in this area was found by 2263 geocachers during its 15 year lifespan. It had to be archived because of new fencing and new flower beds in the area. The original owners of the cache had been on a cruise and enjoyed hunting for caches in the various ports where they docked. In keeping with this, they decided to plant a cache nice and close so cruisers without much time on their hands could at least log one find while visiting our city. Well... 2020 happened and no cruise ship stopped by. They returned in late April 2022 and the piers are crowded after being deserted for 2.5 years. The area is lovely in all seasons and often teeming with birds.
The area is no longer suitable for a larger container. The new cache is a magnetic key holder. ENSURE THE CONTAINER IS CLOSED PROPERLY. YOU HAVE TO HEAR A CLICK.
