This series is a tribute to the collection of whimsical poetry and illustrations by Shel Silverstein published in 1974.
It’s also a tribute to the actual sidewalks in the Rice Military area of Houston, which is a neighborhood characterized by small lots, architectural diversity, narrow streets, physically active residents and intermittent sidewalks.
If you go walking here, you’ll be walking in the street some of the time so please be aware that the residents often drive as fast as they walk and run.
