Corby's Walk
We would like to invite you on one of our dog, Corby's favourite walks from Rainton to Baldersby St James.
As this is a rural area it could be muddy in certain areas - walking boots and wellies are a must in wintertime! We are sorry this walk is not suitable for pushchairs.
To start our walk, we would suggest either parking along the roadside outside Rainton Village Hall or on the roadside outside Baldersby St James Church - dependent on your starting point. From Rainton head down the public foot path off Church Lane or if starting from Baldersby St James set off up the public foot path next to the school.
This walk is known locally as “The School Footpath”. After Rainton's infant school (the village hall) closed in 1922 - the children transferred to Baldersby St James school. The children of Rainton would journey to and from school via Church Lane, New Road and across the fields along the path you will take.
Be warned you may encounter muggles as it is a popular village dog walk!
