Every park needs a cache. This cache replaces Agnew Park 3 which was recently archived after park renovation. A different hide means a new cache. Bring a pen or other writing stick with you.
There is a wheelchair accessible paved path all the way to the cache, although we can't guarantee that all will be able to reach the hiding place. VTA Route 20 has a stop in front of the park. Street parking directly in front of the park is limited but there is plenty across the street or a short walk away.
This park is in the middle of what was Agnew Village, named for Abram Agnew, the Santa Clara Valley pioneer from Ohio who laid out the town. In 1877, the land of "A. Agnew" appears on county maps opposite the paper mill owned by James Lick. The South Pacific Coast Railroad built a station five miles north of San Jose in 1878. The railroad station and the town were then referred to as "Agnew's" or "Agnews". The station and much of the old town still remains east of Agnew Road. The site of this park is part of the land where the old Agnew Elementary School sat before it closed in 1989.
Normal park hours are dawn to dusk. There may be restrictions on facilities due to county health orders.

Congratulations to KarenLona and gw0143 for the FTF!
